the Manhattan Vintage Show

my vintage mini dress purchased from la poubelle....

The story goes like this...  I saw this dress at the October Manhattan Vintage show, but didn't buy it because I was over budget.

So at the January show, I thought I'd look for it, being sure that someone else had scooped it up.  Well, it was there.

Still as pretty, excellent condition, fits well... I guess it was meant to be...  Can't wait for the weather to warm up so I can wear it.  It's like a ray of sunshine on the world!

next day, the subway station at the Museum...

Brooklyn knows how to do a subway station...

Yes, it's true.  Despite growing up in Westchester County, working in Manhattan for three summers during college and visiting Manhattan countless times for cultural events, I never went to Brooklyn.

Until my trip last weekend...  and I enjoyed it all.  The flea markets on Saturday and the Brooklyn Museum on Sunday.  And then getting back to Manhattan to meet a friend for drinks...

So I took the 2 train, transferred to the 4 train, transferred to the L train and took the A train (as the song goes) to Columbus Circle.  Met my buddy for drinks at the Smith.  And though they were upper Westside price drinks, they were good....

For the finale, met another friend at Piccolo Angelo (on Jane Street), the best Italian restaurant in my opinion and had a delicious penne pasta with marinara sauce...

Oh, yes, it was quite a trip...

P.S. I met Ryan Greer, the owner/designer of FLUX bags at Brooklyn Flea...  he did a collab with Anthropologie... beautiful pieces and such a creative, friendly young man...
