the Bootleg Punch...

the entrance to the Holocaust Museum, the site of the Bootleg Ball

to celebrate the partnership between the Henley Street Theatre and the Richmond Shakespeare Company
I was escorted into the ballroom by two lovely flappers.  Most of the attendees were dressed in vintage 1920s apparel.  Slinky dresses for the ladies and sharp looking tuxedos for the gents.
The coming together of the two theatrical companies was officially announced as well as the program for 2013-2014 season.  Awards were presented, including one to the departing artistic director of Henley Street, James Ricks.  The Folio Award was given to Roy Proctor, a veteran of the Richmond Times Dispatch and Richmond News Leader, having reviewed 3500 productions over the years, including the 37 plays of the Shakespeare Canon.
The paddle auction was led by Juan Conde.  As the formal portion of the program ended, the music keyed up for dancing by all.
A note to all RVA fashionistas who know Liz from J. Crew in the Short Pump mall.  She has been chosen to act the lead role of Kate in the Taming of the Shrew - kudos to Liz!
